Reaching milestones is a reason to celebrate and yesterday I squealed when I realized Makenna Kate has reached another milestone in her short life. She loves to bite and I had warned everyone about it when she finally had teeth. Last night she was trying to bite me and I felt something sharp. As I started looking I realized that sharp object was actually a new tooth in her mouth, her first of many more to come.
Makenna Kate is 6 months old today. As I look back over the last 6 months I realize how blessed we have been with this precious little girl. To have had the very difficult and rough start to life that she did the time following that has been wonderful. She has been sick very little with only one ear infection requiring and antibiotic and a few other colds along the way. There is no doubt in my mind that God has had His hand on this baby girl and I thank Him every day for that blessing. The last 6 months have been a time of great joy for me with getting to know this sweet baby as I have taken care of her, loved her, and nurtured her in only a way grandmothers can. Our time together has been very special and I pray the time we spend together in the days to come will only be more special when she realizes how much her Mamma Kim loves her. Happy 6 months today, my precious little Makenna Kate, with all my love Mamma Kim.
