Lexi, this year has been a good year for you that was evidenced yesterday with all the awards and accolades you received at the end of the year awards day. Keep up the good work. You are a good student that any teacher would be proud to have in her class. At awards day Lexi received Citizenship Award, all A honor roll, Accelerated Reader Award, and awards in Math, Science, Social Studies, Language, Reading, and Spelling. With all of those awards what was left Lexi for anyone else to receive.
We have all laughed at Lexi this year because she has told us all year she knew more than the teacher did. After all these awards maybe she does. Everyone who know Lexi knows she says what is on her mind and all year she has been very confident she knew all the teacher was teaching. What do you to challenge a student like that in the classroom? Lexi, keep up the good work and dedication it takes for you to be the best. You are the best in my opinion. I love you.

Happy Birthday, my sweet Lexi

This was the first year we can remember that Lexi was out of school for Spring Break and to Lexi that was one of the best parts of Spring Break. As usual, Mamma Kim and Lexi spent one day celebrating her birthday. This year we had an extra visitor with us, Makenna Kate. Usually Lexi does not allow anyone to go with us because it is only her birthday. I guess when you are 7 months old that is all right. The morning started at IHOP with breakfast. From there we proceeded to numerous other stores before ending up at the mall. It was there she chose her birthday presents. At Shoe Dept she found a new pair of yellow box flip flops. All that shopping makes a girl hungry. Eventhough it had only been 2 hours since she ate breakfast she was already wanting a pretzel. Mamma Kim put her off for a while on that one, instead we headed to Belk for her to find some new clothes. The outfit she tried looked so cute on we could not resist that purchase. Of course no birthday would be complete without a visit to Limited Too, now Justice. There she found some more lip gloss. Let's see how many things of lip gloss do we already have? There was also a journal she needed from there. Our happy day ended at the food court with lunch from Pepper's before Neil and Taylor picked her up.
Happy Birthday my sweet Lexi and I pray you have many more.
This year has been a year of challenges for Lexi but in each one I can see the determination to stick with the challenge and face it head on. That quality will carry you far in life, Lexi. Never be afraid to face the challenges that come your way. You have a loving family who will stand behind you and support you in everything you undertake.
I am so proud of your accomplishments academically. You were chosen to participate in the Spelling Bee. Your school year was a challenge but you rose to every challenge Mrs. Rogers gave you. She prepared you well for third grade. We can see that every day. You decided to try tennis this year and have done very well at it. Keep up the good work as you continue your lessons.
With all my love to you sweet Lexi,
Mamma Kim

Mobility is coming quickly
This is a time of year I always dread because it seems such a waste of time for me to have to spend hours upon hours getting everything ready to file my tax return. I love the country in which I live but I question all the money that is wasted by our government. I would not have to invest so much time and money in this effort if so much was not wasted in Washington every year. Ok, that is my soap box for today now on with other more pleasant events in the life of my family.
Last week we celebrated Craig's birthday, his 30th at that, with a family dinner at their home. It was such a nice evening to be able to enjoy with the family that was able to attend. Mason decided he liked me that night and I was the one who had to help him get the food he wanted to eat. Bree made several desserts for Craig; a Coconut cake, chocolate oatmeal cookies , Craig's all time favorite, and a wonderful banana pudding made with nutter butters.
Last Tuesday, Makenna got her next series of shots. Dr. Googe was very pleased with her progress as she is sitting up for a short while and getting where she needs to go still crawling backwards. The five shots they gave her just about got the best of her in the few days that followed; however, she is much better now. One thing Dr. Googe wanted us to do was eliminate the one night feeding and put her to bed about 9 pm instead of 7pm. That is much easier said than done. About 7, Makenna cannot stand herself or anyone else because she is so sleepy. We tried for several nights with out much success and we are back at the 7- 7:30 bedtime. I will just live with the once a night feedings. Eventually she will outgrow that feeding and maybe there will not be any damage to her teeth as we do not put her in a bed with her bottle.
Any ideas on how to contain a baby that is going to be fully mobile in a short time. I must work every day even when she is here and I am getting a little concerned about containing her. I did not really think mobility would come this quickly. I do not know where the time has gone.
Taylor had competition last Saturday at Starkville with the following two weekends being in Collierville and Little Rock. At Starkville she won second place overall. I am so proud of her not only for her accomplishments but also for the discipline she has developed as a result of gymnastics.
I was finally able to meet the girls and give them their Valentine sacks. To understand the full meaning of this story you will have to know I gave both the girls between 15-20 packs of gun for Christmas. That being said, their sacks included new pajama pants, candy and more packs of gun. Lexi was so excited about the gun. I asked her if she did not have gun from Christmas and she said she had already chewed all of it. "Mamma Kim, you know I am addicted to gun. That gun was gone a long time ago and I am soooo happy to have some more. Get out of the way so I can open the pack and chew a piece." I suppose that means she was happy with the contents of her sack. Now I know what needs to go in her bag for Easter.
Maggie and Mason are now in Mothers Day out on Tuesdays and Thursdays; therefore, Bree has free time on those two days to do some things she wants to do. It has been really good for the twins even though they do not like going.
I had committed to teach a class for the home school group at our church. It sounded like a good idea months ago when Melissa asked but as time got closer and my wagon was loaded I began to get stressed but the Lord took care of that for me. No one signed up for the class I was going to teach and I can devote that time to other commitments. Thank you Lord for once again taking care of me.

Home Alone
Annacarmie started back to school today; therefore, Makenna Kate and Mamma Kim are home alone. It was very hectic trying to get out the door for Annacarmie today since she has not had to be on a strict schedule for quite some time now. She made it out the door at her designated time even though there were things that she did not have time to do such as making bottles. Because that is a very important thing Mamma Kim told her to go on she would do that before Makenna Kate woke up.
Makenna Kate had been sleeping really well at night. Last night was an exception. She was up many times. I think babies have a sense about them when Mamma needs to sleep because she has others things to do and through that sense they stay awake a lot. We will definitely stay up more today.
Lexi missed school today because of a horrible cough, probably just a cold but she is coughing so much she did not want to annoy everyone around her with her barking. Janice was not working today so Lexi is with her. Normally she stays with Mamma Kim but because Makenna Kate is so little Stephanie did not want to take a chance on Makenna Kate getting sick.
All the furniture is moved into and out of Makenna Kate's room as necessary and I hope we are through moving furniture for a while. Sunday I told Annacarmie I was getting the itch. She looked at me as seriously as she could and said, "do not even think about it." It took me a minute to realize what she was talking about. She thought I was getting ready to sell our home and build again. That was not even a thought on my mind. I am still trying to recover from the last move. She gets extremely worried when she thinks I am ready to sell. After the last move she said if I moved again I would do it by myself. She was DONE. This time I was getting the itch to go to Target. I know exactly what she wants in Makenna's room and we have been unable to find it here. That brings thoughts of Target to my mind and all the wonderful accessories we could use in Makenna Kate's room from there. I will post pictures as soon as we are finished. Oh, I forgot the pink plastic flamingos are on the way. Yeah, I found some and cannot wait for them to arrive.

School days
School starts today and the girls are definitely not ready. I do not know that they would ever be ready. They love the summer, getting to sleep late, swimming, playing, and not having such a rigid routine of school, homework, and bedtime. I am sure those first weeks will be difficult as they get back into a routine.
I pray Lexi gets a teacher that is right for her and one that makes school enjpyable for her this year. Most times I do not worry about her; however, last year was and exception. Not that she did not want to go to school but she cried incessantly about going. At first she said her teacher was too hard and she was going to fail. This is the child that gets upset if she makes less than a 98. I cannot even imagine the stress she put Stephanie through having to drag her out of the car every day for weeks. I will be anxious to hear tonight how school went for both of the girls.

Lexi has a break in her schedule
Lexi is spending the night tonight. She has not stayed in a while. I guess she has been able to work a visit into her busy schedule. Not sure what she has in mind for us to do but there is no doubt in my mind that she will let me know what she wants to do and what she wants to eat. That is just how Lexi is. No one ever has to wonder what is on Lexi's mind, she is very quick to tell everyone what is on her mind. That so much reminds me of her Pappa.
