8 Months Old

You are getting so big and learning so many new things. You now weigh 17 pounds and wear a 6-9 months clothes; even though you have a long body sometimes making it difficult to find one piece outfits that are not too short for you. That is fine with me because everyone knows I do not like one piece outfits anyway. You love being outside strolling or playing in your walker. When nothing else seems to pacify you Mamma Kim can take you outside and all seems right with your world then. I love this picture of you with out a care in the world.

You have learned to do many things that you are not suppose to do such as a trick you learned in the last 2 weeks; If the bathroom door is left open you are in there in a flash and the toilet tissue holder is just at your height. That makes it so tempting for you to grab the tissue and get out of there as fast as you can with the toilet tissue in hand taking it where ever you happen to go.

I do not believe one piece of furniture is going to survive you. I have never had a child who wanted to bite on and chew everything in sight but you sure do; furniture, rugs, blankets, and people. All of my furniture will be marked forever because of your teeth prints. My child, you must quit this.

My office is off limits to you but you always seem to end up there when I am busy with other things. There are so many things that entice you in there, your favorite being the cords to the computer. That is where you head if you get anywhere near that room. Why do you like cords so much? Scrapbooking has become a non existent activity when you are around and not asleep as you want to help even when I do not need help. Always before I kept stacks of papers and products for the upcoming classes. You seem to have a radar that directs you to those stacks. Cat's eye inks would be so much fun if only you could get the tops off.

Bath time is a favorite time of the day for you as you splash water everywhere and play with all you water toys. You are eating a larger variety of foods now even though Mamma Kim does n to cook as often as she used to so mostly it is baby foods. We have tried to get you to drink from a sippy cup but you do not like it. You want your bottle above anything else. Will we ever get that bottle away from you?

We are mostly on a schedule with a morning nap, an afternoon nap and getting ready for bed by 7:30-8:00. Any deviating from that schedule upsets you and you do not rest well when your routine is disrupted. You are still not sleeping through the night. I have done everything I know to do to get you to sleep through the night to no avail. Anyone have any suggestions for getting her to sleep through the night? It is beginning to wear on me after 8 months of getting up once or twice during the night.

We have discovered baby faith DVD's and they are your favorite. We watch them numerous times a day.
